ACTIONS
Main herb for distension caused by Dampness. Promotes movement of Qi, transforms Dampness, resolves stagnation. Warms and transforms Phlegm, directs rebellious Qi downward.


INDICATIONS
Food stagnation, chest and/or abdominal distension and fullness, feeling bloated, feeling full, reduced appetite, vomiting, diarrhea. Important herb for reducing and eliminating: distension and fullness, especially when due to excess. Wheezing (due to obstruction by Phlegm with coughing), stifling sensation in the chest. Treats fullness in the chest ("asthma"): physically full, makes the Qi go down (comparable to Ren.22).
Non-Physical: Smothers, Dampness that makes that you cannot breathe, cannot move. No focal distension, no pressing (differentiates it from Fr Immaturus Citri Aurantii (Immature Bitter Orange)/Zhishi)


CONTRA-INDICATIONS
During pregnancy.
